MAD Day

On February 6th, just a week after Chinese New Year, Legacy 41 came together with over 30 volunteers to create a special day for the children of Home Welfare Karunai Illam and Home Welfare Anbu Illam. This event was all about making a difference in their lives—bringing joy, new experiences, and unforgettable memories.

The day started with an ice-breaking session, where the kids and volunteers got to know each other before splitting into groups. From there, the fun began! We played games, performed magic tricks, and shared words of encouragement to uplift and inspire the children. One of the most meaningful moments was our palm print activity, symbolizing the unique mark each of us leaves on the world.

The highlight of the day came when we surprised the kids with a lion dance performance—a first-time experience for many of them. The energy and excitement in their faces made it all worthwhile. The joy in their faces was priceless.

After a delicious lunch, the kids got creative by designing and decorating kites, writing their dreams and wishes on them. With excitement in the air, we boarded a bus to a nearby park, ready to fly our kites high. However, things didn’t go as planned—our kites wouldn’t fly! But instead of letting that stop us, we quickly switched gears, bought new kites, and made sure everyone got to experience the joy of watching their wishes soar in the sky.

As the day came to a close, we exchanged thank-you and goodbyes, knowing that this wasn’t just an event but a meaningful moment in all our lives. Through laughter, play, and shared experiences, we left with full hearts, reminding ourselves why we do what we do—to create a POWERFUL, JOYFUL, and RESPONSIBLE world for the next generation.
